The problem is, the merchandise and sales are excellent, so most customers will put up with the aggressive or unknowledgeable associates and just help themselves and find an somewhere to check out. Then there's the constant turnover of associates, the customers will become frustrated with sales people who have no idea what's in their department and stop shopping there. At some point with ASM's quiting right and left here in Austin, which is booming. The only thing that hurts Dillard's is telling friends and relatives not to shop there and sites like this one that warns people before they sign on to work with Dillard's. Then no one who has to have and really needs their job badly is going to be a witness for the others, since that could jeopardize their job.
